We have less debt, the oil price is higher and yet we're not far off the low. Maybe someone could shed some light on the above?

I've been looking at the June Overview Presentation. In fact the timing of the Jubilee turret issue couldn't be better as that oil is staying in the ground in a bad year for oil. Net debt has reduced to 3. SO debt is still horrible but not as horrible as last year.

I thought the timing of the placing was awful but in retrospect it couldn't have been much better. It's also encouraging to think that although the share price has been absolutely hammered, the market cap is not as low as it would have been without the fundraising, so this should help with the refinancing of debt.

I guess it all depends on outlook. Even the additional revenue from the TEN Field will make it impossible for Tullow to continue without piling on even more debt, or resorting to divestments or a rights issue. We've had the rights issue! Also, with the reduced capex, maybe the above break-even figure has changed. Time to contact Tullow investor relations. Let's assume the following: Jubilee fixed and full production capacity of circa 80k bopd reached 2. We burn a little under m barrels every single day.

The problem is on the supply side. Libya and the shale supplies are hurting the attempts to restrict supply but looks like shale is the weakest link. You cannot turn it off or on like a tap either as people need to be recruited and debt interest needs to be paid. Suspect baker hughes figures will reflect that soon. Sure wish I was an oil liquidator in the US and lets hope the hedge funds who bought shale assets lose some money to boot.

Russia can't survive, nor can SA, with bear market in oil so forget dollars.

Markets get complacent and confident but forget basics-could see oil bears wipeoblivion with geo political event in no time.

Recant bearish moves in oil equate to 'irrational exuberance' in equity bull market-traders see easy profits with nothing to get in their way-big investing mistake. Be under no illusion-Saudi Arabia is far more important strategically to Trump then mid west shalers-they will remind him of it soon.

Over reaction in market and great buying opportunity coming up. I'll have to review tullow again, it was historically well hedged. Who knows the sucker could be right but I don't know how oil can stay at this level without a very large drop in demand. Tullow Oil, said Chief Financial Officer Ian Springett has resigned with immediate effect due to ill-health, having taken an extended leave of absence to undertake medical treatment in January.

Following Springett's resignation Wood has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis and as an executive director with effect from Tuesday. Prior to joining Tullow in , Wood had held various positions with BP for 28 years.

Just scaremongering, ignore the noise ;. Mark CondrenFearghal O'ConnorJune 11 6: The Dublin and London-based oil and gas company has endured a tumultuous few years since huge African discoveries saw it grow from its Co Carlow roots to become one of the most successful independent companies in the sector. Irish founder Aidan Heavey, pictured, announced earlier this year that he is to step down as chief executive of the London-listed company.

Its share price has fallen more than 80pc since it peaked in but research from Barclays targets a 30pc rise to pence sterling for the shares. Cutbacks saw a 44pc reduction in employee numbers, with non-operational corporate and admin roles falling by three quarters.

Job losses have impacted Tullow's Dublin office where it employs more than , many of them in highly skilled geologist and scientific roles. The research note said that Tullow management has identified a partial sale of its producing Ghana business to accelerate debt reduction, and a farm down in Kenya to secure a development carry for the million barrel project.

Tullow offers investors exposure to rising low-cost oil production in Ghana that is generating free cash flow, while a further phase of medium-term growth comes from Uganda and Kenya, it said. I'm pretty confused to hear of administration talk. Tullow presciently did a fundraising about two months ago at p, so should have enough to keep the lights on for the rest of the year WTI oil and natural gas futures continue to trickle down.

Trump needs a victory, forward momentum so I can't see the USA cutting back now on jobs or production, pedal to the metal! OPEC won't stick to the cuts, you reap what you sow, That's the theory cash. They stand to make a clean profit on those regardless of todays prices.

Shale jobs under threat again. Will they ever learn. Saudis and Russians are in control. Another drill and another bullet going into the suicide gun. Next time they will have some more expenses as the short economic well lives have been used up on this last bounce. That is if Mrs Driller lets Mr Driller back to oil.

Emilo, looks like you followed him over, I've read some of deanroberthunts post, he talks a lot of sense, glad for his constructive input, get over it. Thank you for that. I'm looking for some exposure to well positioned oilers that can prosper on the low oil price environment. TLW Is certainly looking attractive at this price. I opted to purchase African Oil for exposure to Kenya but have been absent from trading since the first oil discovery in Kenya only to return a few months ago given the present opportunity in this beaten up sector.

My biggest concern for TLW is its debt and the fact the share price is sentiment driven. I'm expecting TLW to continue to asset strip to help improve it balance sheet. It would appear the shorters are very much in control!! Whether I would buy this share or not depends on my investment time horizon. DIversification, where do you place TLW in your above overview? You really think the governments who are heavily dependant on taxeable income from oil will let this industry die? It's no longer peak oil supply but demand as the fracking in the US and advances in technology have changed the long term median oil price.

If things get that bad then the governments will cut the subsidies for renewable energy such as solar panels and abolish the subsidies on electric cars which cost! Fact is highly indebted oil companies will struggle and the super majors will clean up! Look at some of the new oil minnows concentrating on low cost oil fields in West Africa and Asia!

The industry will rebalance and their will be a few casualties but good assets will always be funded. It's easy to be a bear in a bear market!
